WTF? Christmas songs now

So I am sitting here, trying to figure out why my struts application is not work. Finally got somewhere in the deubg, and I hear KCSM play christmas songs already?! It's just halloween!I'd understand if it was middle of November, but October 31st. Shouldn't it be This is Halloween, from A nightmare before christmas! Just don't get it.Ok, so I have this friggen retarded STRUTS in action book. I mean this thing sucks. I do not see any good examples to go off of. Come'on, I mean, without good examples, how the hell are you going to try to figure it out. BTW, brownie points if you can tell me how a sychronized token works for form submissions!

Logjamming is COOL!

I need to recognize Logjamming as a cool ISP. The setup was fast. The features are really cool; I get PHP, CGI scripting, mySQL DB, prebuilt applications, I can host my own blog! I get enough disk space for my purposes. Now, if I can convince Loren to give me SSH access!? OKOK, I can't push it too much. Now, with that plug, I say to all you wookie views to check them out at www.logjamming.com. Cool bunch.

Who has the nuts!

Who has the nuts?! So more poker tales from me. Last night, I was able to win a $100 dollar Hold'em tournament. Great, I thought to myself, "Two weeks in a row". 5:00pm rolls around today and a co-worker says, "Who has time for a quick game?!" Being on a win streak, I said, "Hell yeah!!!" Since this is a different group of players, I thought to myself, "Must play a little different, make more aggressive play!" But after winning a few hands, I forget to play as I have planned. I started to play a little looser, and ended up getting knocked out during the middle of the game. I was drawing flush against a pair of aces caught on the flop. Damn, I should have known the way Mr. PoBoy plays. Make a mental note next time, and also, don't push a 5-6 suited against another pair of flopped aces!Lesson and scenario noted. More agressive play, but not stupid play. All in good fun!

Garage Band Rocks

I finally got garage band loops installed on my Mac. It's friggen awesome! There are a bunch of samples and loops for just about any type of instrument covering most genres of music. Now, I gotta figure out how to use it properly. I made a small upbeat bluesy track called Brow Beating. Don't know what I called it that, but that sorta just came to mind. It's got drums, bass, electric organ, harmonica and some horns as well. Well, it's nothing spectacular but, it did wet my interest in music again, for the fourth time. Got me thinking about getting a midi keyboard as well. I figure, "Might as well put those guitar and piano lessons to work right?" I'll post the cheesey track someday, when I get to it.

Monday Blues

Monday is always a drag. It's a drag to get out of bed, and gather up the strength to go to work. Well, I managed to get through the day, although it was a few hours longer than usual. Needed to put in some extra time to get a project back on track. That went ok. I didn't make it out to the snow or the surf this weekend. Instead, I tryied to get some work done at home. Yanked out the entire bathroom, laid out some cement boards to get read for marble flooring. Also started to put in the basboard trim around the floor. That was fun, a lot of knocking around to find the wall studs and a lot of kneeling around. So today, I have achy knees and a knuckle that is a little tender. Damn, I should invest in one of those joist finders! One day down, 4 more to go. Hopefully I can make it up to Tahoe this weekend.

When will it stop?!

9:30 am - I get a call from work, "There are emergencies to take care of"10:00 am - I get a call from work, "Please take care of this issue for the next week and ignore everything else"11:00am - I cannot login to the network at work, something f$$ked up! Nothing is working, but i justed tested everything before I left last night12:00pm - Ahhh...step out for lunch, Vicino's Roast Beef and American Cheese on dutch crunch...made my day!2:00pm - Get back from lunch, emails have calmed down4:00pm - Finished a little bit of work, that I can pass off for the entire date. Will this ever stop. Granted I was working from home today, but the $hit hits the fan more than just a few times a day. In fact, I don't think the fan has stopped smelling since day one. There must be so much $hit stuck on the fan, that I do not know if you can get it off if you paid a janitor 90k a year to scrape with the most potent cleaner.Sorry, venting...there I feel much better.

Board? What Board

What do I choose? 156 carbon fiber board, heavy clothes, mountain air, fluffy white stuff. OR 9'6" fiberglass lightweight board, smooth water repellent skin and cold salt water. I'm only describing this because that is the choice for this weekend. The ski resorts open this weekend, abiet only two runs and pre-season conditions. It would still be a great time to try out those new Ride bindings I am going to use this year. Umm....that would mean trying to free up the entire weekend and I have some stuff to do here around the house this weekend. On the other hand, a nice dip in the ocean would wash off all the crud I've built up these two weeks at work. Only drawback...swimming in poop water. That's right, you heard it. We live near the ocean, but so do the sewer lines, small creeks carrying garbage into the ocean. Why? Why? Why? So, either I get up to the mountain, or dip in a poop filled ocean. Ummmm?

The bambino is gone

I think the past week has been the most exciting baseball week I've ever witnessed. Don't get me wrong, I was at game Six of the 2002 Giants/Cardinals NLCS game and that was awesome. But this week, the greatest comeback in baseball history. That has to be something: to be down to the last pulse of the season, and rally back for four extra games! Now, if only the Giants can do something like that...On another note, I finally won a Hold'em tourney last night. I was able to calm myself when it came to heads up play. I tried a few bluffs and that worked too! Next time, my goal is to show fake tells to my opponents.

Chasing the River

So last week, I played a No-Limit Hold'em tournament. As usual, I get down to heads up play. Now, this is where I usually falter and get a little anxious. I forgot the exact hand, but I was chasing an open ended straight draw, and before the river card comes out, I go all in. I thought, "good, go all in and scare the other guy off" But I was wrong, he calls, we show, he has a pair of nines and I need a 5 or 10 to complete the straight. Forgot what the last card was, but I lose! Thinking about it afterwards, my opponent does not fold, no matter how bad his hand was. I should of hesitated on that. But oh well...nothing like a night of no limit and getting into second place. Tonight on the other hand, I will play a little smarter and try to figure out each person's betting style. Let's see how that goes!

Dogs are obnoxious

As I was driving home, I have made the decision that dogs are obnoxious, or is it just mine? They can't tend to themselves, they require a lot of attention, think everything is edible. When I say edible, I mean edible. Shoes, paper towels, slippers, contact lense cases, drapes...these are just the inanimate objects. When it comes to food items, my dog will eat anything: apples, pears, ginger, bread, pasta, rice, twigs, dirt...damn..i guess they just like anything. Then there is the relieving themselves...you train them to go in one place at one time of the day, and they cannot figure out that they can go there during other times!!! (do i make sense??)Maybe I should have gotten a cat? NO way, I am allergic to them!

baseball is slow

So, I am sitting here watching the red sox try to break the bambino curse...will they do it? Man, is baseball a slow sport....just a lot of waiting around, chewing tobacco and spitting. But watching a game at the ballpark is a different story. that is fun, lot's of hot dogs, fries, beer..and more beer!!!So I did not make it out to the beach this weekend. Amongst things at home, and the rain today, I guess I will try again this week. That also means I need to patch up all the dings on the board. Well, tomorrow is the beginning of another week at work. so what can I say i did this weekend??? Not a lot, but that is always a good thing. Saw a hip hop show at the Canvas Friday, bought $$hit for the house Saturday and just hung around today.Until next time....I still gotta bring this site up to par. Might take a while.

Commence Wookie Spanking

So yet again, I have started a blog. This one is for real. I friggen paid for it. Must use it and cherish right? anyways... no real rants or raves today. Greymatter is surprisingly easy to get up and going. A few files to ftp here and some configurations there, and what do you know. I am blogging. Damn. anyways...do you want to know about the domain name? You might be thinking, man, wookies do not need to be spanked? But that is just it... they need to be before they get out of line. spanking the wookie now!!! So I will be trying to gather up some pictures of wookies and showing them off. they are an interesting species I must say. OKOK...ignore the above. I just happened to want a catchy domain name and spanking wookie is a cool one to me. Plus I love Star Wars and watched it millions of times growing up. In fact, I have three triliogy sets, all the old toys that I broke and now regret. Well enough for now...Come back and take a look at this site once in a while. Perhaps you might find something else besides wookies here...Hasta!
